Just 19 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, across from the island of Cozumel, the Serena Hotel and Spa is located in Puerto Aventuras, in a paradise like setting nestled between lagoon, ocean and exotic jungle. The Serena Hotel is accessible either by driving or walking from the main road through Puerto Aventuras, a planned golf and marina Community in the Riviera Maya, on the way to Tulum. The Cancun International Airport is one hour's drive away.
Built with palapa villas with thatched roofs and open spaces, this modern resort sits on white sandy beaches on the edge of crystalline azure waters, a Caribbean delight to all visitors. The entry road winds through a landscaped nine hole golf course; the central business area includes tennis courts, fishing and scuba diving services, several restaurants, and shopping areas. It is home to a museum, as well as one of the few places to "swim with the Dolphins" in Mexico.
The entrance surrounds its enthralled visitors with waterfalls, fountains, glass walls and marble floors. They can then discover the pool, restaurant, and health spa, located on the second floor. A "sweat lodge," built in accordance with ancient Aztec tradition and healing ceremonies is also on site. Banquet services are available with private areas for social receptions and weddings.
The hotel's cabanas, each individually decorated, come complete with two queen beds on the first floors and large suites with a king beds on the second floors. The views through the large cabana windows are tranquil and soothing, due to surrounding turquoise water and abundant plant life.
